The Health Lottery Foundation has launched Community Choice—its first funding opportunity of 2026—offering ten grants of £1,000 to small charities and CICs supporting health and wellbeing across England, Scotland and Wales.
The scheme is designed to be fast and accessible, particularly for grassroots organisations with an annual income under £300,000. To enter, a staff member or volunteer simply nominates their organisation using a short online form; email submissions aren’t accepted. Nominations are open from 2nd February to 27th February (5pm), with ten organisations chosen at random to receive funding and contacted in early March.
Eligible organisations must have been running for two years or more, hold a bank account in the organisation’s name, and deliver activities that improve health and wellbeing in their communities. Community Choice celebrates the vital work of small voluntary groups who help local people live happier, healthier lives.
