National Citizen Service
From 2023, NCS will be awarding two different types of grants to local organisations delivering community-based experiences at a grassroots level, for the first time.
Matthew Good Foundation – Championing Grant
Championing grants are designed for you to support smaller charities and community initiatives that don’t have the same publicity and awareness enjoyed by large, national and international charities.
Civic Power Fund – Community Action Fund
The Community Action Fund is open to UK-based organisations that are eligible.
To be eligible for funding you must complete the questionnaire by 26th February 2023.
Foyle Foundation – Small Grants Scheme
Small Grants Scheme is designed to support charities registered and operating in the United Kingdom, especially those working at grass roots and local community level, in any field, across a wide range of activities.
Grants of between £2K–£10K.
There are no deadlines – online applications can be submitted at any time.

Arts Council – Project Grants
The funding comes from the National Lottery. Grants usually range from £1,000 to £100,000. Project Grants are always open so you can apply at any time.

Grants over £10,001

Aviva Community Fund
To support building stronger and more resilient communities, currently focusing particularly on financial wellbeing. Aviva will match your donations (up to £250) pound for pound.
For organisations looking to fundraise up to £50,000, reviewed quarterly.
Tesco Community Grants
Grants of up to £1500, applications are received continuously.
Henry Smith Charity – Strengthening Communities
A grant programme aims to support small, grass roots organisations who are embedded in the community, working within the most deprived areas of the UK.
There are no deadlines to apply and grants range from £20K-£60 over 1-3 years.

National Lottery – Awards for All
Supporting communities with the things that are important to them, including mitigating the impact of the cost-of-living crisis and supporting them as they seek to recover, rebuild and grow following the Covid-19 pandemic.
You can apply for funding to deliver a new or existing activity or to support your organisation to change and adapt to new and future challenges.
This fund is ongoing, offering £300-£10K.
