Corbett Community Library has marked a significant milestone with the announcement of an £18,000 donation from Coca‑Cola, made in partnership with Torridon Convenience Store.
The news was shared during the library’s recent Thank You event, where volunteers, Friends and donors were invited to celebrate the collective effort that keeps the library operating at the heart of the community. Although not everyone could attend, the library has emphasised how grateful it is for the ongoing support from local people who give their time or contribute financially.
This donation comes as part of Coca‑Cola’s community initiative, which invited participating convenience stores to nominate a local charity to receive a major financial gift. Torridon Convenience chose Corbett Community Library, describing it as “at the heart of this community”, a reflection of the library’s importance as a volunteer‑run hub offering services, activities and support to local residents.
The £18,000 contribution represents a substantial boost to the library’s long‑term sustainability. As a community‑managed library, Corbett relies on local partnerships, fundraising and the passion of volunteers to stay open. This funding will help the library continue its vital work and strengthen its future plans.
The Community Libraries Network warmly congratulates everyone at Corbett Community Library. This achievement demonstrates the power of local relationships, the trust built between community organisations and their neighbours, and the impact that community‑run libraries continue to have across the country.
